The plot of Othello’s drama is one of Shakespeare’s most intense, strongly constructed tragedies, with no subplots, and no humor to escape the tension.
Relationship between Desdemona and Othello
Shakespeare’s Othello casts doubt on the purity of marriage and delves into the many manipulations and expectations that individuals put on one another. Because the Iago characters refuse to recognize Othello as an equal member of society, they must share blame for Othello and Desdemona’s demise. The usage of a frail symbol, such as a handkerchief, emphasizes the fragility.
Othello stands out as the tragic hero when we look at the drama of Othello. But he’s not the only one. A character must suffer worse than it deserves to be a tragic hero, isolated from society, defeated to the end, sacrificed for a cause, or suffer a tragic fault. Desdemona is one of these qualities in Othello.
Desdemona is a tragic heroine because her sorrow is not proportionate to her faults, her strength is overwhelmed and her sufferings are sacrificed to others. If Othello believes in his love, then they do not have to face such destruction today because love is such a thing that if there is doubt about it, it is no longer in love, it is the complete opposite of love. When Desdemona saw that Othello’s behavior had changed, she should have taken the right steps, but she didn’t, so Iago took advantage of the situation to ruin their relationship.
